Cleaning Tips
Pendeford
Outside

Allow around 4 man (or woman) hours for cleaning the outside of the boat.

Don't use the mop on the roof. The non-slip surface is very abraisive and it attacks the mop, which leaves white fluff all over the roof and also ruins the mop. You can however get away with using the mop to clean the gunnels. Even though they have the same abraisive surface, because it isn't such a large area it doesn't seem to suffer from the 'fluff effect'.

To clean the roof, it is best to use a soft broom and fresh water. Any stubborn mud marks can be removed with a scrubbing brush.

Wipe the paintwork down with a damp cloth and clean water. There is a tin of brasso onboard, and a supply of rags for cleaning the brasswork.

Occasionally, the drainage gulleys under the rear deck should be cleaned out. An accumulation of mud and leaves blocks the drainage channels.
